Rihanna's video for Only Girl (In The World) is out! The song is ok and the concept for the video is nothing we haven't seen before. BUT, the video is stunning to watch. It features shots of Rihanna traipsing around in beautiful open landscapes while dancing and singing in drop-dead gorgeous clothing. For me, the wardrobe choices and styling are what make this video unforgettable. Her clothing is clean, feminine and pretty and they complement her persona in the video. The whole thing reminds me a Vogue editorial shoot that could have taken place in the '90s. Watch it now:

why is food so good?
I can't stop watching the Food Network! I've always been a fan, but lately I can't turn it off. It's actually kind of pathetic, because some days I've been watching for so long that the programs start to loop again. Crazy! If I watched Throwdown with Bobby Flay earlier that day and the same episode comes on again after a few hours, I'll probably still watch it. Like maybe if I watch it again, I can pray for a different outcome. Maybe the second time around, Bobby will pull through and make the better cioppino, hands down. Like the judges will change their mind and realize that the chipotles and the adobe sauce really does work well in every dish. If only!
I even enjoy watching Diners, Drive-ins and Dives, even though the host, Guy Fieri, kind of grosses me out. He's always hacking away at some huge piece of meat, sweating and grunting until he manages to choke out his " that's money" seal of approval. Despite this, he is pretty entertaining and you have to admire his gusto.

Being a proud Canadian, I've got to show love to the Canadian programs as well. Chef at Home star Michael Smith nails it everytime ( even without a recipe-extra points!) with his simple yet hearty home-cooked fare. Chuck Hughes of Chuck's Day Off is in a league all of his own, he is that good. My all-time favourite was The Main with Anthony Sedlak, but I don't think his program runs anymore. Regardless, the man could whip up a mouth-watering meal in no time flat. He is also quite easy on the eyes...you feel me??
So kudos to the Food Network producers-they sure know what they are doing because they've got me hooked.
