tilt-a-twirl

As soon as I saw the ad campaign for Kate Spade's new fragrance, "Twirl", I was immediately mesmerized. It's a beautiful snapshot, playing on the retro vibe so popular right now, but tempered with a modern feel. Check it out:

This isn't some generic perfume ad with a man and a woman half naked on a beach- it tells a story. A glamourous one at that. It might not be revolutionary, but it had me intrigued enough to march into The Bay to see if the scent was as good as the campaign.

And after seeing Britney Spear's latest ad for her new fragrance, "Radiance", I fully welcome an ad that draws me in rather than one that forces me away- enter Britney:

What is up with the cheesiness? Why is Britney walking on water? And why the tacky, ghetto fab bottle?
I can't be bothered to decode. I bet it stinks too, like some cheap perfume that Shopper's Drug Mart sells for $19.99 and tries to trick us into buying even though we know we're being duped into it but we can't help it because it's only $19.99!!!

You know how at perfume counters they tell you to sniff coffee beans to neutralize the scents you've been smelling? Consider the clip below my version of online coffee beans, and rid yourself of the stank that is Britney Spears' Radiance ad campaign. Enjoy!
